Carmen Aguirre to speak at CoDev AGM!

Carmen Aguirre

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2011 AGM!  We hope you learned a bit about CoDev and had a great time.  A special thanks to Rhizome Cafe for hosting us, to Carmen Aguirre for sharing some readings from her new memoir, Something Fierce, and to Los Trovadores for making us sing and dance!

CoDev is thrilled to welcome guest speaker Carmen Aguirre at our 2011 annual general meeting on September 22nd. Ms. Aguirre is a Vancouver-based theatre artist who has worked extensively in North and South America. Ms. Aguirre will join us to share a reading from her new memoir, Something Fierce: Memoirs of a Revolutionary Daughter, a fascinating account of her and her family’s struggle, in Chile, Vancouver, Peru and Bolivia to defeat the Pinochet dictatorship. Aguirre’s memoir embodies the deep ties of solidarity between Vancouverites and the movements for social justice in Latin America.  Following Ms. Aguirre we will be joined by musical guests, Los Trovadores!
