I was incrediably shocked and saddened to hear of Bob Rosen’s death. I attended many
BCTF AGM’s in Vancouver and admired the stands Bob took for democracy and teacher rights. He was a giant of a man and
someone you listened to with respect and
admiration. He could say with passion what
you were thinking. What a loss. My

What Cuba really needs is to unleash its productive force allowing the micro and small business to develop as an important part ot the wealthy generation. Taxation is OK but it could not mean a new barrier for the private business sector development.They could try to promote not to imposse the cooperative model, not just in the rural areas but in the urban areas as well.

SUTEP has just informed us that Presidnet elect Ollanta Humala has invited SUTEP’s Secretary General, Rene Ramirez Puerta to his July 28 inauguration. Given that the past four Peruvian presidents would have preferred to eliminate the teachers’ union, this bodes well for future relations between SUTEP and the new government.
