CoDev’s volunteers are a core part of our work and we count on them to advocate for the work of CoDev and our partners. Our volunteers help us in many different ways and show their commitment to global justice through their generous donation of their time. Volunteering with CoDev is an excellent way to donate your time and show your support for global justice. Our committed volunteers contribute to CoDev through:
- General office support
- Assisting with communications and fundraising
- Translation and interpretation (occasional)
- Professional services: computer technical, legal, financial, communications, fundraising
- Outreach at events and conferences
- Event planning
- Café Ético volunteering – preparing/delivering coffee orders; outreach to promote fair trade
Please note that CoDev does not place volunteers overseas. CCIC has a great list on their site of organizations that do.

Notice to Volunteers
It is the policy of CoDev that volunteer applications are accepted and positions filled without regard to the applicant’s race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, handicap, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, record of offenses, marital status, or family status. CoDev adheres to a bill of rights (PDF) for volunteers and has a volunteer recognition policy (PDF).
It is a condition of placement that all volunteers agree to be bound by the policies and procedures of CoDev. The personal information collected on the volunteer form will be used for the purposes of establishing and maintaining the volunteer relationship and will not be used for any other purpose or disclosed to any third parties without first notifying you.
