The Centrale des Syndicates du Quebec brings together more than 200,000 teaching, professional and support staff from school boards, CEGEPs and universities, daycare workers, nurses and staff from the health and social services sector, and communications workers. It also has an association of retired people in its ranks, which adds another dimension to its representative strength.

RRSMFF- British Columbia

The purpose of RR Smith is to advance public education in British Columbia and in developing countries by : providing scholarships and bursaries to doctoral students in any area which advances public education and deserving students, to enable them to attend post-secondary educational institutions, making and administering grants to Canadian registered charitable organizations, the purposes of which are similar to those of the society, acquiring school materials, books, equipment, and supplies of all kinds, and donating them to schools, providing funding to support innovative projects which advance public education, working cooperatively with governments in Canada and other countries, and other charitable organizations.

The Surrey Teachers’ Association is a union of professionals representing 5800+ public school teachers in Surrey, BC. Some of the objectives of STA are: to promote the welfare of members, to promote and foster the cause of education, to promote the professional development of teachers, and to represent its members and to regulate relations with their employer through collective bargaining of terms and conditions of employment. Surrey Teachers’ Association members provide professional educational services to the more than 67,000 students in Surrey.

VEAES (former VESTA)-British Columbia

The Vancouver Elementary and Adult Educators’ Society (VEAES) is a Union of elementary K-7 teachers, associated professionals, and Adult Educators in the Vancouver School District. Their sections are educational interest groups within the membership and are recognized as a Section of the Association upon approval of the Executive Committee. Sections establish goals and activities annually in such areas as curriculum professional development and policy advice to the VESTA Executive Committee in these areas and any other matters of general concern to the Section. They have counsellors, learning support specialists, gifted students' educators, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, etc.
