CoDev Movie Night: Harvest of Empire

Join us for a special Movie Night celebrating Latin American voices, stories, and the journeys that connect us all.

We'll be screening the powerful documentary Harvest of Empire: The Untold Story of Latinos in America. Following the film, we’ll open the floor for informal conversation, connection, and reflection on how these stories resonate within our own lives and communities.

Thursday, July 24 at SFU Harbour Centre, 515 West Hastings Street. 6:30 pm. Seating is limited, please reserve your seat!

Hosted by CoDevelopment Canada through its Latin American and Caribbean Engagement Committee (LAACEC), with the support of the SFU Labour Studies Program and the David Lam Centre. Light refreshments will be served.

About the Film:
Harvest of Empire (2012) is a feature-length documentary based on the groundbreaking book by journalist Juan González. Directed by Peter Getzels and Eduardo López, the film examines the impact of U.S. foreign policy in Latin America and how it has shaped migration patterns and Latinx communities in the United States.
