Statement from the Central Organization of Cuban Workers

The new anti-Cuban escalation is justified solely by hatred.
The Central Workers' Union of Cuba (CTC), the national unions, the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR), and the patriotic and revolutionary workers, categorically reject the new and brutal escalation by the current United States government to bring the Revolution to its knees precisely in the Year of the Centenary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro.
The most powerful economic and military force in human history, with a population 30 times larger than that of Cuba, a war budget that multiplies several times the Gross Domestic Product of most of the countries that make up the UN and the second largest nuclear arsenal in the world, has just declared the dignified and independent Island as an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to the national security and foreign policy of the US.
The convicted man, sentenced by the American justice system, as the emperor of the moment, intends to dictate to the countries that sovereignly trade oil with our homeland to stop doing so, under penalty of imposing tariffs on exports they make to that nation, following the infamous recipe conceived since 1960 by the obscure Under Secretary of State that was Lester Mallory to "provoke hunger, desperation and the overthrow of the government."
As the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, pointed out on his X account, the White House decided on this criminal measure “under a mendacious pretext and devoid of arguments, sold by those who do politics and enrich themselves at the expense of the suffering of our people (…)”.
We also endorse the statement made by the Cuban Foreign Minister, Comrade Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, that every day “there is new evidence that the only threat to the peace, security and stability of the region, and the only malignant influence, is that exerted by the U.S. Government against the nations and peoples of Our America, which it attempts to subject to its dictates, deprive of their resources, mutilate their sovereignty and deprive them of their independence.”

At this crucial moment not only for Cuba, but also for Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the world, we remember the warning of National Hero José Martí, the illustrious anti-imperialist who lived in the belly of the beast and knew its entrails, that “the trees must be put in a row, so that the seven-league giant cannot pass.”
That is why we call upon governments, parliaments, trade unions and solidarity organizations with Cuba; and honest citizens of the world who oppose the fascist, criminal and genocidal nature of the current US administration, to raise their voices in protest, in every possible arena, to condemn this arbitrary and immoral measure.
The Central Organization of Cuban Workers (CTC), the national unions, the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR), and the patriotic and revolutionary workers, reaffirm our aspiration to build in peace, without blockade or threats, the society with all and for the good of all that José Martí dreamed of and Fidel Castro made a reality with the only Revolution that triumphed 67 years ago, as well as the willingness to defend it at whatever price is necessary.
DECLARACIÓN DE LA CENTRAL DE TRABAJADORES DE CUBA

La nueva escalada anticubana solo tiene al odio como justificación.
La Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), los sindicatos nacionales, la Asociación Nacional de Innovadores y Racionalizadores (ANIR), y los trabajadores patriotas y revolucionarios, rechazamos tajantemente la nueva y brutal escalada del actual gobierno de los Estados Unidos para poner de rodillas a la Revolución precisamente en el Año del Centenario del Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro.
La potencia económica y militar más poderosa en la historia humana, con una población 30 veces mayor que la de Cuba, un presupuesto de guerra que multiplica varias veces el Producto Interno Bruto de la mayoría de los países que integran la ONU y el segundo arsenal nuclear del mundo, acaba de declarar a la Isla digna e independiente como una "amenaza inusual y extraordinaria" para la seguridad nacional y la política exterior de EE.UU.
El convicto condenado por la justicia norteamericana, como emperador de turno pretende dictarle la orden a los países que soberanamente comercian petróleo con nuestra patria que dejen de hacerlo, so pena de imponerle aranceles a exportaciones que realizan hacia esa nación, siguiendo la infame receta concebida desde 1960 por el oscuro subsecretario de Estado que fue Lester Mallory de “provocar el hambre, la desesperación y el derrocamiento del gobierno”.
Como señaló en su cuenta de X el primer secretario del Comité Central del Partido y Presidente de la República, compañero Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, la Casa Blanca decidió esta medida criminal “bajo un pretexto mendaz y vacío de argumentos, vendido por quienes hacen política y se enriquecen a costa del sufrimiento de nuestro pueblo (…)”.
Suscribimos también lo afirmado por el canciller cubano, compañero Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, de que cada día “hay nuevas evidencias de que la única amenaza a la paz, la seguridad y la estabilidad de la región, y la única influencia maligna es la que ejerce el Gobierno de EE. UU. contra las naciones y los pueblos de Nuestra América, a los que intenta someter a su dictado, despojar de sus recursos, mutilar su soberanía y privar de su independencia”.

En este momento crucial no solo para Cuba, sino además para América Latina y el Caribe, así como el mundo, recordamos la advertencia del Héroe Nacional José Martí, preclaro antiimperialista que vivió en el monstruo y le conoció las entrañas de que “los árboles se han de poner en fila, para que no pase el gigante de las siete leguas”.
Por eso convocamos a los gobiernos, parlamentos, organizaciones sindicales y de solidaridad con Cuba; a los ciudadanos honestos del mundo, que se oponen a la naturaleza fascista, criminal y genocida de la actual administración norteamericana, a alzar sus voces de protesta, en todos los escenarios posibles, para condenar a esta medida tan arbitraria como inmoral.
La Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), los sindicatos nacionales, la Asociación Nacional de Innovadores y Racionalizadores (ANIR), y los trabajadores patriotas y revolucionarios, ratificamos nuestra aspiración de construir en paz, sin bloqueo, ni amenazas, a la sociedad con todos y para el bien de todos que soñó José Martí y Fidel Castro hizo realidad con la única Revolución que triunfó hace 67 años, así como también la disposición de defenderla al precio que sea necesario.
